Celebrating our Food for Life accreditations
Norse Group is thrilled to celebrate the achievement of multiple Food for Life accreditations across our organisation.
For the 14th consecutive year, our Norfolk catering team has retained the Bronze Food for Life accreditation, alongside achieving Silver at Drake Primary School in Thetford. In Devon, our South West Norse catering team has also been awarded the Silver award for the second year running.
Food for Life, created by the Soil Association, is a nationally recognised framework that supports sustainable, healthy catering. It encourages cooking from scratch, using seasonal ingredients, and sourcing locally and from the UK, reflecting Norse Group’s value of always pursuing better and our commitment to the children and communities we serve.
Norse Group delivers award-winning catering services to schools, care settings, and businesses, developing menus that make a real difference. Our approach supports health, nutrition, inclusion, and wellbeing for people of all ages. When it comes to education catering, we work in partnership with schools to help create positive memories for children, bringing hands-on learning and enjoyment through food.

These Food for Life accreditations reflect the care and pride our teams take in serving nutritious, balanced meals every day. As Bronze providers, at least 75 percent of our meals are freshly prepared, with all dishes free from GM ingredients, trans fats, and artificial additives. We focus on fresh, seasonal produce, proudly supporting local farmers, strengthening regional supply chains, and contributing to more sustainable food systems.
The Silver award at Drake Primary School recognises the school’s wider food culture and its positive impact on families and the local community. This includes the use of organic produce, enabling the school to meet the higher-level Food for Life standards.
Building on this work, our Norfolk and Devon catering teams are also using Cool Food Pro, a carbon calculator that helps us measure and reduce the environmental impact of our menus while continuing to deliver high-quality meals.
Reflecting on the achievement, Craig Neale, Operations Director for Catering said:
“These accreditations are a fantastic achievement and a testament to the dedication of our catering teams. We’re proud of the meals we serve and the difference they make to children and communities, and we’re excited to keep building on this work in the year ahead.”
