Catering
Healthy, nutritious and exciting food is key to happy customers.
At South West Norse, it doesn’t matter if you are a primary school, a secondary school or a business and industry site; our goal is to provide high-quality, nutritious food in an engaging atmosphere.
Primary Schools
We at South West Norse Provide over 12,000 primary school meals every day. Our food ethos is, and always has been, to take advantage of the high-quality local ingredients produced in Devon. Our menus are engaging, vibrant, nutritionally balanced and always freshly prepared by our attentive catering teams ensuring children are fuelled for learning.
Research conducted by the Children’s Food Trust has shown that if children eat better, they perform better in school. Our meals are created using local and seasonal produce, wherever possible. We have our own Dietitian and Menu Development Team to ensure we fully comply with school food standards and work closely with student councils to ensure our menus appeal to children.
It’s not just about the food on the plate, we believe we are helping create positive memories for children and we work in partnership with schools to provide hands-on learning and fun through food.
Our Food
Our three-week menu strikes the right balance, providing two delicious hot main meal options every day – one of which is always vegetarian – along with a packed lunch option. These options have been created to allow a flexible approach to suit your needs. Consideration will always be given as to how meals are to be served and where these are to be eaten; whether that’s in a dining room, in a classroom or even in an outside space. Every Wednesday is ‘Roast Day’ and Friday’s are the one day a week we serve chips!
We are also at least a silver food-for-life provider, which means:
- At least 75% of the food we offer is prepared from scratch
- All the meat we serve is Red Tractor assured
- The fruit and vegetables we serve are seasonal and locally grown, wherever possible
- Our food is free from GM ingredients, trans fats and undesirable additives

Secondary Catering
Developed by students, for students, Fresssh delivers a modern, tempting food offer that emulates emerging food trends and food concepts found on the high street.
FRESSSH BY NAME, FRESSSH BY NATURE
Our menu consists of four food concepts:
PLATED – for the more traditional dishes that will always be popular with students.
BOWL – very much taking inspiration from Bento Box and Poke Bowl trends. Our Bowl dishes consist of a variety of world food flavours which supports popular cuisines and enables students to ‘try something new’.
STREET – is all about hand-held food that is filling, appealing and can be eaten ‘on the go’ at break or lunchtime. Our Street food dishes are designed to have minimal packaging.
SWEET – it goes without saying that most students enjoy a sweet treat at break or lunch and our range of sweet items are fresh, homemade and varied to suit all tastes.
INFORMATIVE, ETHICAL AND SUSTAINABLE
We know students are in a generation of conscious consuming and feel a responsibility for the world around them, this is important to us too:
FRESSSH – focuses on a reduction of packaging
FRESSSH – sources from local suppliers
FRESSSH – allows for informed food choices – such as an increase in options for increasingly popular plant-based diets
Business and Industry
Using our extensive experience, we operate a catering service that is bespoke to any business and industry site ensuring staff are well-catered for during the working day in an environment that helps promote well-being.
Our Food
Our brands, including The Kitchen and The Café, incorporate modern and innovative food concepts that keep in line with market trends as well as combining traditional food, international dishes and healthy eating options.
We also offer an extensive ‘grab and go’ range for staff with busy schedules and a traditional barista coffee offer to rival that of any high street coffee shop. Our flexible menus are created by our teams of chefs using locally-sourced, seasonal and market-fresh produce.
