Devon County Council extends partnership with South West Norse to 2030

South West Norse has welcomed Devon County Council’s decision to extend its long-standing joint venture partnership for a further three years, taking the current contract term through to May 2030.

The extension provides long-term certainty at a time of significant transformation across local government and reinforces a partnership that has delivered vital property consultancy, facilities management and frontline support services across Devon for nearly two decades.

Originally established in 2007 as NPS South West to provide property consultancy services, the partnership expanded in 2011 with the creation of Devon Norse, bringing facilities management, catering and cleaning services into the joint venture. In April 2022, the organisations came together under one unified business, South West Norse.

Today, South West Norse employs approximately 650 people across the region and plays a critical role in supporting public services. It works with Devon County Council, district councils, the NHS, schools, academies, universities, sports clubs, community organisations and many others.

South West Norse’s strong local supply chain, including extensive engagement with Devon-based small and medium-sized enterprises, also helps ensure that public sector investment continues to support the regional economy.

The extended agreement comes at a pivotal time for local government, with councils across the UK navigating significant reform and reorganisation. This is placing increased pressure on authorities to maintain stability, efficiency and continuity of frontline services during a period of transition.

South West Norse will continue to support Devon County Council through this period by providing resilient, efficient and locally delivered services that underpin essential public provision.
