South West Norse, a joint venture between Norse Group and Devon County Council.
South West Norse
Supporting communities across the South West
Supporting Devon residents
South West Norse is built on nearly two decades of delivering essential services and professional expertise across the South West.
Established originally in 2007 as NPS South West, the partnership was created to provide high-quality property consultancy services to public sector organisations. In 2011, the joint venture expanded with the formation of Devon Norse, bringing facilities management, catering, cleaning, and other frontline services into the partnership.
In April 2022, these successful organisations united under a single identity to become South West Norse, creating one integrated business with the scale, expertise, and local knowledge to support communities across the South West region, including Exeter, Devon, Plymouth, Somerset, Cornwall, Dorset and Whilshire.
Local insight, national capability
Today, with around 650 employees, South West Norse combines national capability with a deep understanding of local priorities. We deliver effective, resilient, and sustainable property and facilities services that help our clients achieve their operational, social, environmental, and economic objectives.
Through strong local partnerships, investment in regional suppliers, and a commitment to community value, we reinvest success back into the areas we serve, supporting economic growth, local employment, and better public services for Devon residents.
Innovation in action
We use advanced surveying, engineering, and design technologies to deliver high-precision data, smarter project planning, and better compliance. Our multidisciplinary teams integrate architecture, consultancy, and facilities management, guiding clients through complex projects.
From sustainable building design to full asset management, we prioritise safety, efficiency, and value, using tools like BIM, Revit modelling, and asset mapping. Our approach ensures coordinated delivery across all phases, mitigates risk early, and maximises outcomes for clients, enabling confident decision-making and consistently high-performing results.
For people and the planet
Sustainability is central to everything we do. We reduce our carbon footprint through local sourcing, electric vehicles, and eco-friendly operations, while supporting Devon’ County Council’s net zero targets. Our investment in social value includes apprenticeships, graduate placements, school engagement, and community initiatives. By creating local employment opportunities and fostering future talent, we deliver public benefit beyond contracts.
Every project balances environmental responsibility with community impact, ensuring that our services not only meet client needs but also enhance wellbeing and resilience across the South West.
Excellence in every meal
South West Norse delivers school meals that are fully compliant with the School Food Standards, with every menu designed to provide balanced, nutritious meals. Our qualified dietitian oversees menu development, supported by robust recipe specifications, procurement controls, regular menu reviews and operational audits to ensure consistent quality and compliance.
We are proud to hold the Silver Food for Life Served Here award from the Soil Association. This independent accreditation recognises our commitment to freshly prepared meals, responsibly sourced ingredients, healthy nutrition, sustainable practices, and local and ethical sourcing, giving schools, parents and pupils confidence in the quality of every meal.
