NEWS
Supporting communities across Norfolk
Serving Norfolk communities
NEWS, formed in 1993, works with Breckland District Council, Broadland District Council, Great Yarmouth Borough Council, King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council, North Norfolk District Council, Norwich City Council, and South Norfolk District Council to provide essential waste management and recycling services. Working closely with Norfolk County Council, NEWS delivers solutions that directly benefit local communities, helping residents and councils reduce waste, improve recycling rates, and maintain cleaner, safer environments across the county.
Recycling with purpose
NEWS manages the Costessey Materials Recycling Facility, two waste transfer stations, and 19 Recycling Centres across Norfolk. Handling around 250,000 tonnes of waste annually, the company ensures materials are collected, processed, and recycled efficiently. With around 84% of waste from the Recycling Centres recovered, NEWS demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability. By focusing on community-centred operations, NEWS helps councils deliver high-quality recycling solutions that support people and the environment, keeping Norfolk cleaner, greener, and more sustainable.
