Social Value
Creating lasting impact in local communities
Driving local impact
At Norse Group, values-based service delivery underpins everything we do, with social value embedded across our services and impact measured to ensure it is meaningful and sustainable. Through our joint ventures, we strengthen local economies by creating jobs and working closely with small and medium-sized businesses to keep investment local. Profit is reinvested into public services, supporting communities where it is needed most.
We support our employees to give back to the communities they serve through paid volunteering hours and our Community Fund, which provides grants for grassroots initiatives and local sports clubs. Together, these activities help strengthen communities beyond our everyday services.
Opening doors for talent
We champion inclusive employment, supporting young people, veterans, and ex-offenders to access education, training, and meaningful work. Programmes such as Work Matters provide supported internships for young people with additional needs or barriers to learning, offering a structured introduction to the workplace.
We are proud to be an Armed Forces–friendly employer, recognising the transferable skills service personnel bring. Through partnerships such as Future Horizons, in collaboration with HMP Norwich, we help ex-offenders access education, training, and employment. For existing employees, apprenticeships are available at every level, providing development opportunities across the organisation while keeping social value central to everything we do.
Connecting people and purpose
We maintain long-term partnerships with local and regional charities to deliver lasting, measurable impact. In collaboration with Norfolk Community Foundation, we support initiatives such as Nourishing Norfolk and Good for Good, providing resources and expertise to tackle food insecurity, strengthen community services, and connect businesses with charities. Our partnership with Norwich City Community Sports Foundation, including the Active Canaries and Onside programmes, promotes sport, inclusion, and health for young people. Beyond Norfolk, we support the Public Sector Challenge, uniting local authorities and public sector organisations to raise funds for vital charities. Together, these partnerships ensure our social value activity creates enduring benefits for communities.
