Norse Group shortlisted for two Facilities Management Awards 2026

Norse Group is thrilled to announce that it has been shortlisted in two categories at the Facilities Management Awards UK, recognising both leadership and excellence in specialist cleaning services.

The Facilities Management Awards celebrate the individuals and organisations shaping the future of workplaces through innovation, service excellence and leadership. Bringing together professionals from across the sector, the awards recognise those making a lasting impact while providing a platform to share best practice and drive positive change.

This year, Norse Group has been recognised in the following categories:

Women in Facilities Management Award

Operations Director Julie Innes has been shortlisted for the Women in Facilities Management Award in recognition of her contribution to the cleaning and soft services sector.

With more than 25 years’ experience in facilities management, Julie’s career reflects dedication, resilience and continuous progression. Since joining Norse Group as Healthcare Manager in 2010, she has progressed through a series of leadership roles before being appointed Operations Director in 2025.

Today, Julie leads a nationwide workforce of around 850 general cleaners and 10 specialist operatives, managing a £7.9 million portfolio of services. Under her leadership, the cleaning division has achieved a 77% increase in profit over the past five years, driven by operational excellence and innovation.

Julie is equally passionate about developing and supporting her people. As the first trained Mental Health First Aider within Norse Group’s cleaning division, she champions wellbeing and has inspired others to gain the qualification. She also promotes career development through apprenticeships and training, creating a culture where colleagues feel valued and empowered to succeed.

Cleaning Service Provider of the Year – Specialist

Norse Group has also been shortlisted for Cleaning Service Provider of the Year – Specialist, recognising the exceptional work delivered by its specialist cleaning division at HMP Norwich.

Over the past 12 months, the team has successfully completed 238 high-risk specialist cleaning operations, including biohazard decontamination, trauma response and the restoration of environments affected by extreme and challenging conditions.

Working in some of the most demanding environments, the specialist cleaning team plays a vital role in protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of inmates, staff and visitors. Their ability to respond rapidly to urgent operational requirements helps minimise disruption and ensures essential prison services can continue safely.

One example of this expertise was the successful delivery of a full deep clean of a prison kitchen serving almost 1,000 inmates each day. The project was completed in just three days, enabling the facility to reopen quickly and maintain the continuity of catering services.
