Creating understanding around ADHD in the workplace

ADHD is often misunderstood. While it is commonly associated with hyperactivity or difficulty concentrating, the reality is far more nuanced, and no two people’s experiences are the same.

To help raise awareness and challenge common misconceptions, Norse Group has produced a new short film exploring what it can really be like to live with ADHD.

Through honest conversations and personal reflections, Tim Discipline, Admin Assistant; Matthew Taylor, Facilities Administrator; and Sam Kemp, Videographer, share their experiences of living with ADHD. Their stories are complemented by expert insights from Crysta Pestano, Associate Director of Architectural Services at Norse Group; Dr Russell Ramsay, Psychologist and Co-founder of the Penn Adult ADHD Treatment and Research Program; and Beckie Clifton, Development Worker at Norfolk SEN Network.

As both the film’s creator and someone with ADHD, Sam Kemp brings a personal perspective to the project. Reflecting on what he hopes viewers will take away, he said:

“All I hope is that by being vulnerable, it gives others the confidence to look introspectively. Being diagnosed and learning about ADHD has helped me, if only by confirming the fact that I felt different growing up, which means more than you’d think. I just hope people can be empathetic to the fact that everyone is different, in every aspect of life.”

Together, the contributors explore both the challenges and the strengths that can come with ADHD, highlighting why greater understanding and acceptance matter.
