Mental Health Awareness Week (12-18 May) is a vital initiative aimed at raising awareness and promoting mental wellbeing for everyone.
Spearheaded by the Mental Health Foundation, this week offers a valuable opportunity to reflect on mental health, spark conversations, and extend support to those experiencing mental health challenges.
At Norse Group, our employees are our most important asset. We are passionate about investing in our people and have committed to a People Strategy with employee health and wellbeing at the heart of it.
Last year, we proudly launched our Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training programme accredited by MHFA England. To date, over 120 employees across the Group have completed their training and we aspire to reach 300 Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders) by 2027, achieving the ratio of one MHFAider for every 20 employees.
MHFA England training is a key component for creating a safe, healthy workplace. As wellbeing champions, our MHFAiders provide direct support to those in need, helping individuals to remain well at work.
Once qualified, our MHFAiders benefit from continued support through a dedicated network facilitated by our HR and Learning & Development teams. These sessions provide a valuable forum for reflection and discussion, incorporating key updates from both MHFA England and across the Group
In addition, Norse Group recently launched a dedicated 24/7 Wellness Hub and a ‘Road to Wellness’ calendar, both offering a wealth of resources and support to help employees take care of themselves, their colleagues and loved ones.
Whether employees need to connect with our network of MHFAiders, participate in wellness training courses or seek action plans and advice through our Employee Assistance Programme, Norse Group is committed to supporting our employees’ health and wellbeing. Together, we’re creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, supported, and able to thrive.
