As the temperature drops, winter is fast approaching, and with extreme weather comes great responsibility.
When roads become icy and covered in snow, Norse Highways’ team of dedicated Winter Service Operatives don their metaphorical capes to clear and grit more than 2,200 treated miles across Norfolk. In a typical year, Highways use over 10,000 tonnes of salt to keep the roads safe for residents in Norfolk and ensure that traffic keeps moving.
This year, Norse Highways are looking for committed individuals to join their team from October to April. Hours are weather dependent; however, most gritting takes place early mornings and evenings (before 7:30am and after 4:00pm), including weekends.
Applicants must hold an LGV Class C Licence and CPC Qualification and have previous experience operating plants and machinery.
Benefits include competitive pay rates, including enhancements for weekends, evenings, and bank holidays. Plus, standby payment over the 26-week season on allocated routes.*
This role is an excellent opportunity to be part of our dynamic team delivering an essential service, treating Norfolk roads to keep the county accessible during winter.
*T’s and C’s apply. Please see the job description for further details.
