This landmark scheme will be constructed to set new benchmarks for sustainable development, not only meeting the demanding requirements of Passivhaus but also by achieving Zero Net Emissions in use.
Brookfield Close will be the first scheme under the council’s Small Sites Affordable Homes Programme which aims to better utilise land and assets to deliver genuinely affordable homes for local residents on brownfield sites over a 7 year period.
Providing a positive intervention in the marketplace, this scheme will drive up the quality of the housing product through design, space and material selection and environmental excellence.
Brookfield Close will be transformed from derelict garage sites and a former community centre into 61 brand new, modern NET ZERO CARBON homes, including the complete EnerPHit Passivhaus retrofit of 21 apartments. Providing much needed affordable homes in the local community, this regeneration scheme will provide 70% of the homes for Social Rent.
This development will challenge the art of the possible and redefine standards of living for residents, improving quality of life by eliminating fuel poverty and improving health and wellbeing.
