Our employees are our most important asset, so when it comes to building our workforce for the future and equipping them with the skills they need, we place great emphasis on our apprenticeship scheme.
Our apprenticeships take place at locations right across the UK and lead you to nationally recognised qualifications.
To achieve this, we ensure our apprentices have a real job – one that has been carved out for them, linking training with hands-on experience. Delivering a diverse range of services means that Norse can offer a wide range of apprenticeships, offering over 40 different types across the Group.
What to expect
Once recruited, apprentices gain vocational qualifications in their chosen subject while working alongside other departments across the Group.
Your training will normally be delivered through a local training provider and will meet National Occupational Standards as part of the Institute for Apprenticeships.
You’ll get competitive rates of pay and be rewarded for progressing to new levels of competency, and for good conduct, with regular reviews and pay increases. Once you qualify, your rate of pay will be aligned to the relevant newly qualified rates.
Join Norse as an apprentice and you’ll be given the opportunity to reach your career aspirations. Both your manager and the dedicated Apprenticeship Team are there every step of the way, to support you on your journey.

Frequently asked questions
Apprenticeships combine practical training in a job with study, meaning that as an apprentice you will work alongside other experienced staff, gain job specific skills and study towards a recognised qualification.
Anyone can apply for an apprenticeship. You can apply if you are:
16 or over
Living in England
Not in full-time education
The minimum duration of any apprenticeship programme is based on the individual working a 30-hour week.
The duration of any apprenticeship is a minimum of one year and a day. All apprenticeship programmes will differ in length depending on the type of apprenticeship and additional qualifications.
Each apprenticeship standard will differ, most standards do not specify or require entry requirements. The decision to accept an individual onto a programme will be based on the employer’s judgement (alongside the Apprenticeship Team) that the individual is in an appropriate role and has the relevant capability and experience to employ.
To complete the programme and be put forward for final assessment, all learners will be required to meet a minimum standard of maths and English. If you already have qualifications of GCSE C (or above) or equivalent this will be accepted, alternatively the team can support to ensure you achieve the required level:
Level 2 standards require the learner to achieve at least a Level 1 in functional skills maths and English and take the exam for Level 2, however they do not need to pass Level 2 to achieve the apprenticeship.
Level 3 standards and above requires the learner to achieve a Level 2 in Functional Skills maths and English to achieve the apprenticeship.
As an apprentice you will receive support on a day to day basis from both your line manager and/or mentor. The dedicated apprenticeship team is also there to provide you with the support you need to make steady progress through your apprenticeship programme.
Once you have completed your EPA, the external EPA organisation will submit your results to the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA). If you have been successful, the ESFA will issue certification for your apprenticeship.
Based on performance and business need, Norse will do all they can to retain our apprentices and offer a full time position within the organisation.
