Our in-house archaeological team (NPS Archaeology) has been providing expert archaeological and heritage services for over 14 years.
The highly experienced archaeology team complements our award-winning property consultancy by providing a full range of archaeological services – researching, recording and conserving the past.
The historic environment is an important consideration in the planning process. We have excellent working relationships with local planners and can undertake timely negotiations with local authorities and statutory consultees to support planning applications.
The projects we manage range from large-scale excavations for developers and statutory bodies, to small-scale investigations for private individuals and maintaining a ‘watching brief’ during groundworks.
First established in 1972 as the Norfolk Archaeological Unit, we are one of the oldest and most experienced archaeological organisations in the country. After many successful years with the Norfolk Museums and Archaeology Service, the NAU became part of the NPS Group in 2006.
Now as NPS Archaeology, we conduct a wide range of archaeological work on sites of all periods, employing the latest techniques supported by a network of scientific specialists.
Whatever your archaeological needs we can offer a comprehensive and professional service.
A registered organisation with CIFA which certifies quality standards, we can conduct and procure archaeological work for all types of developments in urban and rural settings:
consultancy and advice on mitigation strategies at project design stage
undertaking negotiations on your behalf with the local authority
producing Written Schemes of Investigation (WSI’s)
monitoring and watching briefs
historic building recording
post-excavation analysis and reporting
