A team of Newport Norse employees recently took on The Tour de Gwent, a fundraising cycling event run annually in support of St David’s Hospice.
Newport Norse has been proud to support the event as a shirt sponsor for a number of years and was delighted to see a number of staff sign up to the challenge again for 2021.
Taking part was Architectural Technician Federico Putzu, an avid cyclist, alongside Senior Project Manager Phil Booth and Chartered Surveyor Jess Burge, who saw this challenge as good excuse to them get back in the saddle for the first time in a few years.
Both Jess and Phil cycled an impressive 52 miles.
“The course was challenging but ultimately rewarding,” said Jess, while Phil was glad to have taken part and will continue cycling while the weather stays dry!
Federico, who cycled the Gold Route (78 miles) really enjoyed the ride: “It was a perfect day for cycling and the scenery was lovely.” In fact, he enjoyed it so much that next year he will be taking on the platinum route of 93 miles.
