Ex-Forces staff bring extensive skills and expertise from their military background to their civilian careers. And at Norse Group, we are proud to offer a range of opportunities to all staff – including those who are new to our organisation – to support their personal and professional development.

With fully funded courses available, our staff can attain a variety of higher education qualifications whilst in full time employment, so you can quickly find yourself learning valuable new skills as part of our team.

NPS South West Operations Director, Al Robinson – who came to Norse from a military background – is just one of many employees who has benefitted from the programmes on offer, completing a Senior Leader Degree Apprenticeship (MBA) with Exeter University.

When reflecting on his experience completing the course, Al said: “Undertaking the MBA has been by far the most intellectually demanding endeavour during my professional career – it wasn’t easy.

“That said, the highs have far outweighed the lows. If it hadn’t been for the support of fellow students, colleagues, friends and family I simply wouldn’t have got to the end.

“The hard work paid off, after I was awarded a distinction from the University, awarded Chartered Manager status, and made a Fellow of the CMI. I cannot recommend this degree pathway enough.”

With programmes able to be tailored to individual’s development needs, the Norse Group can provide support to help staff find the qualification that’s right for them, making the transition into civilian employment even smoother for those leaving the Armed Forces.

There are also a number of ways that you can work towards an apprenticeship with Norse too, including:

  • Those joining as an apprentice on a fixed term contract, with an associated apprenticeship standard/qualification to work towards during your contract period
  • Those joining us on a full-time basis, who can sign up to an apprenticeship standard/qualification

Development plans can also be put in place upon joining Norse, providing the opportunity to work towards exciting qualifications right from your first day.
