The contributions and continued service of Armed Forces personnel will be celebrated this week, as the Norse Group shows its support for Armed Forces Week, you can view our Armed Forces Covenant website hub here.

Culminating with Armed Forces Day on Saturday 26 June, the week offers people the opportunity to show gratitude and support to the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, from currently serving personnel to veterans, as well as service families and cadets.

As a signatory of the Ministry of Defence Armed Forces Covenant, Norse Group is committed to supporting people leaving the armed forces into new careers.

Norse already benefits from employing many people who have previously served in the Armed Forces, within our wide range of services, up and down the country. And we aim to do more to become an ‘employer of choice’ for those transitioning from a military career into ‘civvy street’.

Championing the week and Covenant commitment is Norse Group’s Head of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ), Roger Smith.

Roger Smith, Head of SHEQ

A soldier of 22 years’ service, Roger said: “We are really proud to support this week, and to do our bit in recognising the enormous contribution of our Armed Forces.

“For our ex-Forces colleagues working in Norse Group, it is a small gesture of appreciation and acknowledgement towards the experiences they may have had, and the valuable skills they bring to our organisation.”

Throughout this week, we’ll be sharing a few of the stories of those colleagues and we will be flying the Armed Forces Day flag at the Norse Group HQ, based in Norfolk.

Today (Monday June 21) we’ll also be joining thousands of organisations around the country to take part in a ‘virtual salute’ via our social media channels. And we will launch our Armed Forces Covenant website hub which you can view here. This will be where we will share updates on our Convenant activities in the coming weeks, months, and years.

Be sure to follow our Norse Group social media accounts @NorseGroupLtd on Twitter and Norse Group Ltd on LinkedIn for regular updates on all of this.
