The Government is making provisions to offer essential worker tests for coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.
The test will tell us if the individual currently has COVID-19 – it will not show if they have had it already.
In line with this, the Group is introducing processes to identify individuals who are eligible for the test, which is open to essential staff and/or members of their household if you/they have COVID-19 symptoms.
We will be communicating to staff through our management teams providing further details about this process, including booking tests for our essential workers or family members showing symptoms.
To be eligible for a test the below must apply:
- You have the symptoms of COVID-19.
There are also circumstances where the people you live with can have the test if they have symptoms of COVID-19:
- If you are self-isolating because you have COVID-19 symptoms, you are the only person in your household that is eligible to be tested for COVID-19.
- If you do not have the symptoms of COVID-19, but you are self-isolating because someone/persons you live with have COVID-19 symptoms, the person/s you live with are eligible for a test for COVID-19. You will not be tested as you do not have the symptoms of COVID-19.
If you are self-isolating for other reasons and do not have COVID-19 symptoms, you cannot have the test.
