I would like to provide an update on the Group’s continued response to manage and mitigate the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Thanks to the ongoing efforts of all our staff, we have risen to the challenges posed in recent months, continuing to deliver outstanding services that improve the lives of millions of people.

The strength and resilience of our systems and processes have been widely noted, as well as our dedicated staff, who are vital to everything we do.

From the outset, we have been working tirelessly to ensure that the Group is prepared to tackle the effects of the virus, with the swift establishment of an Incident Management Team (IMT) back in March helping to guide our decision-making.

This team has comprised of support service directors and the Group’s Chief Operating Officers, with regular meetings held to discuss and plan our approach.

The IMT will continue to provide leadership and direction for the Group as the national picture evolves, with the prospect of regional and local lockdowns remaining for the foreseeable future due to the spread of the virus.

You can be confident that the Group will respond swiftly and competently to ensure your safety wherever these measures are introduced.

We will also be instigating systems so that local Operations Directors can lead and form their own local incident management teams to handle such occurrences.

Our main objectives throughout this period have been to protect our staff, ensure business continuity at our operations across the country and take responsible actions as necessary.

This continues to guide our focus, as we remain vigilant to the effects of the virus at a regional and national level.

We will continue to monitor the situation and respond appropriately as required, with robust plans and procedures to deal with any eventualities.

Once again, I’d like to extend my gratitude to all our staff, who have played a key role in our response.

Your hard work and commitment have helped to ensure the ongoing delivery of key services across the country and the protection of everyone’s safety and wellbeing. You should be rightly proud of your part in the nation’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
